Ma.gnolia now pushing notifications

July 9, 2008, 5:18pm by eric

I am psyched to announce that Ma.gnolia began pushing updates to the the Gnip server this afternoon.  If you’re building a service on top of public metadata, you owe it to yourself and your users to integrate their social bookmarking data. And because they’re pushing to Gnip, you can be certain that no matter how large you scale, you’ll get real-time for their users without fear of being throttled.

As usual, our partner describe Gnip better than I can:

[Gnip’s] technology will let developers poll Ma.gnolia for new public bookmarks through the “ma.gnolia” Gnip provider, without concern for protocols or the latency between update requests. There’s a benefit to the Ma.gnolia community, as well, because we’ll be handling less API traffic even as the number of applications that work with Ma.gnolia, not to mention the member base, continues to grow. Talk about win-win!

The list of official partners will be updated tonight to reflect Ma.gnolia’s data, but in the meantime, you can see the data buckets here.
